Please join the Arlington Health and Human Services Charitable Corporation as we revitalize the Veterans Memorial Park space in front of the Central Fire Station at 411 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Center. Your tax-deductible contribution will help us reach our $400K fundraising goal so we can begin construction by the summer of 2026. All donations will be used to cover construction and maintenance costs of this vital community park. The majority of the costs of this project will come from funding from local, state, and federal sources.
History
In January 2024, the Town’s Department of Health and Human Services secured the landscape design services of Stantec Planning and Landscape Architecture P.C. to implement Phase I of the Veterans Memorial Park Plan. Stantec was tasked with taking conceptual plans of Veterans Memorial Park and transforming them into an experiential design of a fully accessible, contemplative park space honoring Arlington veterans and welcoming daily use by all.
Design Process
The design of the park has been developed through numerous town and stakeholder meetings over the past two years, involving residents, veterans, boards and commissions, and Town staff. This collaborative approach will help to ensure the park meets the needs and expectations of the full community, while respectfully commemorating the service and sacrifices of Arlington veterans.
